Welcome to Gathering 2025: Look Up! This national loss mom conference helps bereaved mothers overcome loneliness and isolation so that they can find healing in community. Here, you're not just a participant; you're a truly honored guest, cherished for your presence. Let's come together and lift our eyes upward.

Gathering 2020 is now full! Click the button below to be placed on our wait list!

Gathering Hope is a growing movement, providing a safe haven for mothers who have survived miscarriage and infant loss, empowering them to both grieve and celebrate their babies together. Regardless of how long ago you lost your baby, or how tiny the life, we invite you to join us for powerful speakers, uplifting worship and a sacred, intimate atmosphere where you are regarded as a truly honored guest. Inspired by Isaiah 40:31, we are excited to share this year’s theme, “In The Waiting”, featuring speakers Heather Butler, author of That Side of Heaven and Tanika Dillard, author of Building a Family Breaks My Heart.

Why should I attend a Gathering?
Encouragement
Empowerment
Sisterhood
Community
Support

We believe that Christ gifts us with the presence of one another as a source of comfort and our annual Gatherings serve as a catalyst for moms to begin forming relationships. We’ve seen the power of community and how it makes a difference. Remembering our babies together lifts the burden of carrying grief alone and our hope in Jesus gives us the strength to not just survive, but thrive. Together.

Isaiah 40: 31 “…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…”

Click the ticket link to register today and find the community that you’ve been looking for—we want to hear your story.

gathering faq

Q: Who is this event for?
A: Gathering 2020 is for survivors of miscarriage and infant loss.

Q: How do I attend Gathering Hope 2020?
A: Register to attend HERE and expect an email on October 3, 2020 with your attendee link.

Q: What is the cost?
A: Gathering 2020 is a FREE event!

Q: What should I expect at a Gathering?
A: Gathering 2020 is a virtual event where you’ll experience uplifting worship and powerful guest speakers in an atmosphere where you can both grieve and celebrate the life of your baby, with other mothers. The second half of the Gathering is dedicated to sharing our stories in small, private breakout rooms. The conversation is led by one of our volunteers, a fellow baby loss survivor. Of course, no one is ever forced to speak; however you may feel empowered to engage in the conversation after listening to other women who are on the same path.

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Yes! Invite a fellow mom who has experienced a loss, or you’re welcome to invite any woman who supports you. Please make sure to complete individual registration forms for each guest. If you’d like to be in a breakout with a specific person, please include their name on your registration form.

Q: How do I create the Gathering Hope experience at home?
A: We strongly encourage you to plan ahead for this time. Create a Zoom account if you don’t have one already and watch your inbox for email updates with tips on how to get the best experience while attending a virtual Gathering. Plan on finding a quiet space, away from distractions, where you can focus on this special time for yourself. You’re worth it!

Q: Can I bring my husband/boyfriend/other living children?
A: Unfortunately, no. Our event is exclusively for mothers who have experienced miscarriage & infant loss and other women in their support systems (sisters, friends, their own mother). Gathering Hope is an adult-only and women-only event so each guest can feel comfortable about being open and transparent.

Q: Will the event be recorded for me to watch later?
A: Gathering 2020 is designed to be a live, collective experience for bereaved mothers. We suggest planning ahead so that you can engage with the sisterhood of women on this journey to healing. The event will not be recorded.

Q: Do I have to live in the United States to attend Gathering 2020?
A: You may attend from anywhere in the world! However, for our first virtual Gathering we are limiting swag box shipping to U.S. addresses only.

Q: What is required to view and participate in Gathering 2020?

A: You will need a strong internet connection, a phone or laptop (laptop is preferred) and a Zoom account. Headphones might be helpful to limit noise distractions for both you and your fellow attendees.

THERE’S A SPOT JUST FOR YOU, MAMA. SEE YOU IN OCTOBER!

The Four Myths of Grief

In our next FREE webinar entitled "The Four Myths of Grief: Pregnancy and Infant Loss", Tanika Dillard will educate us using her training as a Grief Recovery Methods Specialist to explore why unhelpful ideas or cliches about loss can keep you stuck in the pain and sorrow following a pregnancy loss. Replacing myths with truth that will enable bereaved mothers to journey forward, Tanika will discuss the illusion that we can replace the loss of our babies, why "being strong" is not beneficial to you or those around you, and how time alone cannot and will not heal your broken heart.

Join us on Monday, May 18 at 8pm CST, for a safe space to learn a few truths that can help you on your healing journey. Tanika will teach us for approximately 30 minutes and then respond to questions. While this training will be facilitated through a live Zoom format, participants will not be required to share their story, unless they desire to engage or ask questions after the educational portion of the webinar. It’s always ok to just listen!

Sign up through the form below and watch your email for a Zoom link and reminder on the day of the webinar. We look forward to meeting you!

Calm In The Storm Webinar

*REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED*

In a webinar entitled, “Calm in the Storm: Walking Through Grief and a Forced Slow,” Emily Morehead, LPC at The Couch Therapy is going to educate us through a FREE interactive webinar and share her expertise as a grief counselor. As part of our commitment to journey together, we’re excited to partner with Emily and help you navigate changes in grief, as we unexpectedly find ourselves with more time at home.

Busyness can maladaptively serve us positively during our grief journey. It allows us to busy our life so that we don’t have to process the grief we are traveling with. This training will walk participants through recognizing the experience of a “forced slow” that we are currently in right now and empower participants with coping skills and acknowledgement during their grief journey.

While this training will be facilitated through a Zoom format, participants will not be required to share their story, unless they desire to engage or ask questions after the educational portion of the webinar. It’s always okay to just listen. Join us on Monday, April 27 at 8pm CST, for a safe space to process your feelings and experience. We’re excited to “meet” you!

Zoom link will be provided through email on the morning of the webinar.

Giveback Night at Saltwater

Come enjoy a delicious meal and support Gathering Hope at the same time! Our generous friends at Saltwater will be donating 10% back to Gathering Hope on December 3, 2019 from 5-9pm, *including* takeout orders.

You can also partner with our organization by making a donation towards our #GivingTuesday goal. We'll have Gathering Hope ornaments available on the Christmas tree at Saltwater for you to take home, when you make a donation that evening. When you do so, we'll provide an additional ornament where you can write a special date, message or a baby's name to leave on the tree at Saltwater all season long.

Gathering Hope provides community and resources to women after pregnancy and infant loss. Our local DFW Giving Tuesday goal of $2000 will enable us to begin planning our fifth annual gathering. All mothers attend each year at no cost and as result of community financial partnership. Regardless of how long ago a woman lost her child or how tiny the life, that child's life is valued. This annual event is an opportunity for moms to gather together, realize they are not alone and to hear a message of hope, strength and encouragement.

Journaling Workshop

Journaling Workshop

Ready to start using that new journal you received on Saturday? Let’s learn how to make the most of it, together! P.S. We bought a few extra journals, so even if you weren’t able to make it to Gathering Hope, don’t let that stop you from joining us for this workshop. Light refreshments will be provided and at 7pm we’ll participate in the International Wave of Light by lighting candles for our babies.

Author and blogger, Katie Proctor will be guiding us through a workshop she’s created just for Gathering Hope!

From Katie: “At Gathering Hope this weekend, you all received a beautiful journal. But I know sometimes that blank page can be intimidating, especially if you’re not sure where to start. I also know it can be scary to write things down, to see your thoughts and feelings bleed onto a page that others might see. But journaling can be so helpful in your healing process. Join me for the night to learn about the science behind writing and healing, tips and tricks to get you started, and time to reflect about your Gathering Hope experience and your grief journey with other moms who know what it’s like.

I am currently a stay-at-home mom to my two kiddos, 6 and 2, and am in the process of getting my first two novels published. Before I decided to stay home, I taught fourth grade and did a lot of extensive writing training to not only teach my students how to write, but to teach teachers how to write and how to extend their learning to their own students. Teaching is my love language, and I feel so blessed to be able to share what I know with you.”

**There is no cost to attend, but registration is preferred so that we can make this a wonderful evening for you. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us adequately plan for each guest!**

Self Care Workshop

CERA
3300 Bryant Irvin Rd.
Fort Worth, TX 76109

It’s time for our next quarterly social! Are you exhausted or overwhelmed and feel like something needs to change? Do you sometimes neglect yourself or find that you are last on the list of things to care for? If you answered yes, then this workshop is for you. Facilitated by Amy Simpson, LCSW, this workshop will be fun, relaxed, interactive and provide tools to take home with you.

You will learn how to define the many layers of self-care, identify the barriers to self-care, receive suggestions for creating balance in your life and identify strengths and support systems. Our quarterly socials are meant to be a fun a way to get to know each other better—we know socializing after experiencing a loss can be difficult. Come join other moms and know that whether you laugh, cry or smile it’s all ok here! Relaxed and casual is the vibe for these smaller gatherings. 💜

*You do not have to be a previous guest at our annual gathering! Women are welcome to join us at any point in the year.*

How will the workshop be conducted?
This two-hour workshop is conducted in a relaxed space, with an interactive format. To get the most out of our time together, space will be limited to 25 women, there will be limited cell phone usage and relaxed attire is recommended. Please plan to attend the entire workshop. Make time to invest in yourself as we enjoy a fun evening together with other moms. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

A word from Amy on self-care: “I believe that self-care is a very important part of life. Any stage of life you are in, and any situation that you are going through can be made doable when your self-care is at its best. During my own personal struggles and life challenges I have identified many tools that can be incorporated into your life that help with decreasing depression, anxiety and stress.”

Registration is required to attend. The value of this workshop is $50—there is no cost to attend, but a suggested donation of $10 is appreciated. Simply click the donate link on our website after you register. Thank you for helping us keep events like this at little to no cost to attend.

Disclaimer: This workshop will be geared toward moms who have experienced miscarriage and infant loss. Gathering Hope does not offer medical advice and the workshop is not intended to be a substitute for treatment from your provider.
